GENERAL INFORMATION

Location: Sven Nys Cycling Center, Balenbergstraatje 11, 3128 Tremelo

Balenberg Sportsday 4 is available for students with a minimum age of 12 years and contains following activities:

Orienteering
Trip by canoe from Betekom to Werchter
BMX
Archery Tag

The group is divided into two groups: one group for Orienteering and the trip by canoe and a group (with division into 2 groups) for BMX and Archery Tag. The half-dayprogram switches after the lunchbreak. The return after the trip by canoe (morning + afternoon) is done by bus, this bus must be provided by the school itself.

Minimum 30 to maximum 60 students for this sportday.

INFORMATION ABOUT ACTIVITIES

1. Orienteering

Walk from the Sven Nys Cycling Center to the departure point of the trip by canoe.

2. Trip by canoe from Betekom to Werchter

Enjoy the beautifull environment. The trip start at the Gelroodsesteenweg in Betekom (brigde over the Demer) and ends in Werchter just before the Haachtsesteenweg.

Go down the Demer with a 3-person canoe with a minimum of 2 people and a maximum of 3 people. The trip takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes for a trip of 6,5 kilometers.

The return to the Sven Nys Cycling Center is by a bus arranged by the school.

3. BMX

We introduce the BMX on the pumptrack of the Sven Nys Cycling Center. All participants get a BMX and protection gear.

4. Archery Tag

Archery Tag is an active arrow and bowgame where you try to shoot out players from the other team on a field with obstacles. The bow is limited in strength, arrows are equipped with a soft tip and every playter gets a face mask. This makes the game very safe.

PRICE SPORTDAY

Balenberg Sportsday 4 is available for groups of minimum 30 and maximum 60 students with a minimum age of 12 years old.

Price per student: € 32,00

The price includes four activities per student including the necessary equipment and guidance for the trip by canoe, as well as active supervision for BMX. When choosing this package, the teachers/supervisors of the school are responsible for the execution of Orienteering and Archery Tag. They are required to actively participate during the trip by canoe and BMX.

Per 10 students one accompanying teacher can participate for free (ex. 30 students = 3 accompanying teachers for free).

The price includes Use of terrains - Use of bathrooms - First Aid material available - Free visit of the Center during the sportday - Possibility to use indoor room for lunch in case of rainy weather

EXAMPLE DAY PLANNING

Below you can find an example dayplanning based on the chosen sportday. The planning can be adapted based on the foreseen planning of the school.

Information example school:

Arrival of the school between 9.30AM - 10AM Departure of school at 3PM
Number of students: 50

Planning based on information:

Start of the sportday based on time of arrival at 10AM
End of the sportday based on time of departure at 3PM
Division groups: 25 students per group and minimum 2 teachers to accompany each group

GROUP 1 (25+2)

10.00AM – 11.00AM: Orienteering from the Sven Nys Cycling Center to the departure point of the trip by canoe

11.00AM - 12.30PM: Explanation of the trip, handing out material and trip by canoe from Betekom to Werchter

12.30PM - 1.00PM: Return with own bus from Werchter to the Sven Nys Cycling Center

1.00PM - 1.30PM: Lunchbreak (+ possibility to visit Center)

1.30PM - 3PM: Division into 2 groups for 1) BMX and 2) Archery Tag (switch after 40min. with a 10min. break in between the switch)

GROUP 2 (25+2)

10AM - 11.30AM: Division into 2 groups for 1) BMX and 2) Archery Tag (switch after 40min. with a 10min. break in between the switch)

11.30AM - 12PM: Lunchbreak (+ possibility to visit Center)

12PM – 1PM: Orienteering from the Sven Nys Cycling Center to the departure point of the trip by canoe

1PM - 2.30PM: Explanation of the trip, handing out material and trip by canoe from Betekom to Werchter
