Building & trip by raft from Langdorp to Aarschot (Demer) - B

Building your own raft and then descending the Dyle takes a lot of teamwork. The building of the rafts takes place at Sint-Pieterskerk in Langdorp. The trip start in Langdorp and ends in Aarschot.

START LOCATION: Langdorpsesteenweg 297, 3201 Langdorp (Sint-Pieterskerk) 

END LOCATION: Demervallei 8, 3200 Aarschot (at the Sporthal Demervallei) 

At the start of the activity you will receive an explanation about the construction of a raft. Together with your team you will build your own raft with the material provided and you break it down after the trip. Go down the Demer by raft with a minimum of 3 people. The maximum number of participants per raft can go up to even 10 participants! The activity takes approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes. The construction takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes and the trip about 1 hour for a trip of 3 kilometers. (minimum age 10 years old)

Returning from Aarschot to Langdorp is possible on foot, with your own transport or public transport. It is not obligatory to return to the start location. It is possible to return directly to your own destination after arrival at the endpoint with your own transport.

By Kickbike:

You can end your activity on an active note by returning by Kickbike. You follow the Demer-trail. The trail starts at the end location in Aarschot and goes all the way to Langdorp. The trail is 3 kilometers and takes about 20 minutes by Kickbike.

On foot: 

You can walk back to the Sint-Pieterskerk via the trail next to the Demer. The trail starts at the end location and goes all the way to the Wolfcafé. The trail is 3 kilometers and takes about 45 minutes on foot.

Own transporation:

It is possible to take your own transportation back to the start location or to return directly to your own destination after arrival at the end location. Cars can be parked near the end location. 

Public transportation: 

It is possible to return by public transportation to Langdorp after the trip. The return can be done by train or bus. 

Train Hasselt: Aarschot Station (15 minutes on foot) to Langdorp Station takes about 5 minutes. After the trainride you'll have to walk about 15 minutes to the Wolfcafé.

Bus 36 direction Diest: Walk 150 meters to the bus stop Aarschot Demervallei and take the bus to the stop Langdorp School (takes about 11 minutes). After the bustrip you have to walk 300 meters to the Sint-Pieterskerk.

During weekdays (monday - friday) with a starting hour of your choosing.*
