Canoe from Zichem to Langdorp (Demer)

Discover the Demer valley by canoe and enjoy the beautiful surroundings! The trip starts in Zichem and ends at the Sint-Pieterskerk in Langdorp.

START LOCATION: Ernest Claesstraat 34, 3271 Zichem (De Hemmekes meetingcenter)

END LOCATION: Langdorpsesteenweg 297, 3201 Langdorp (Sint-Pieterskerk)

Go down the Demer with a 3-person canoe with a minimum of 2 people and a maximum of 3 people. The trip takes about 2 hours for a trip of 11 kilometers. (minimum age 6 years old but 10 years old is recommended)

How do I return after the activity?

Returning from Langdorp to Zichem is possible with your own transportation or public transportation. It is not obligatory to return to the start location. It is possible to return directly to your own destination after arrival at the endpoint with your own transport.

Own transporation:

It is possible to take your own transportation back to the start location or to return directly to your own destination after arrival at the endpoint. Cars can be parked on the private parking of the former Wolfcafé (next to the Sint-Pieterskerk).

Public transportation:

It is possible to return by public transportation to Zichem after the trip. The return can be done by train or bus.

Train Hasselt: Langdorp Station (15 minutes on foot) to Zichem Station takes about 10 minutes. After the trainride you'll have to walk about 3 minutes to the start location at De Hemmekes.

Bus 36 direction Scherpenheuvel: Walk 4 minutes to the Langdorp Vuurmolenstraat bus stop and take the bus to the Zichem Station stop (takes approximately 30 minutes). Walk for 3 minutes to the Hemmekes.
