Canoe Korbeek-Dijle to Heverlee + Party

Enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Dyle valley. The trip starts in Korbeek-Dijle and ends in Heverlee, just before the Arenberg Castle.

START LOCATION: The Shelter, Stationsstraat 13, 3060 Korbeek-Dijle

END LOCATION: Celestijnenlaan 100, 3001 Heverlee (at the bridge across the Dyle)

Go down the Dyle with a 3-person canoe with a minimum of 2 people and a maximum of 3 people. The trip takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes for a trip of 6,5 kilometers. (minimum age 6 years old but in case of groups 8-years old is recommended)

It is possible to enjoy a party at The Shelter during your birthday party. The ideal party combination of adventurous activities and delicacies!

OPTION 1:Trip + Party-Package

The party-package includes a variety of healthy, sweet and salty snacks, still and sparkling water and a pie or cake. The table and surroundings are decorated with decorations, streamers and balloons.

For the pie or cake you can choose from the following options:*

• Chocolate cake 
• Vanilla cake (nature) 
• Apple pie 
• Cherry pie  
• Smurf pie 

* Mention the choice of pie/cake when making the reservation!

Extra drinks can be ordered at our bar and must be paid in cash, by Bancontact or Payconiq on the spot. 

ATTENTION: Bringing your own drinks is not permitted!

OPTION 2: Trip + Drinks

It is possible, in combination with an activity, to have your party take place at our location if you purchase the drinks from our bar.

We reserve a table (in- or outdoors) for the group.The drinks must be paid in cash, by Bancontact or Payconiq on the spot. 

In combination with a drink from the cafe you can bring your own cake/pie and (cold) snacks. We don't allow elektric cooking equipment or other heating devices (like a gasfire). Only cold snacks like sandwiches or other are allowed on our location during a birthday party.

Note: Please forsee your own serving material (plates, cutlery, cake server, etc.)!

It is possible to return to The Shelter by Kickbike, on foot, your own transportation or public transportation. It is not obligatory to return to The Shelter.  It is possible to return directly to your own destination after arrival at the endpoint, parents can pick up the kids at the endpoint if the Party Package was planned before departure of the canoe trip. 

Per Kickbike:

You can end your activity on an active note by returning by Kickbike. You follow the Dyle-trail, a unique trail that follows the Dyle. The trail starts at the end location in Heverlee and goes all the way to The Shelter. The trail is 4 kilometers and takes about 40 minutes by Kickbike. (minimum age 8 years old)

On foot:

You can walk back to The Shelter following the Dyle-trail, a unique trail that follows the Dyle. The trail starts at the end location in Heverlee and goes all the way to The Shelter. The trail is 4 kilometers and takes about 1 hour on foot.

Own transportation:

It is possible to take your own transportation back to The Shelter or to return directly to your own destination after arrival at the endpoint.

The parents of the participants of the birthday party can pick them up at the ending point.

Public transportation: 

It is possible to return by public transportation to The Shelter after the trip. The return can be done by train. 

Train Ottignies: From Heverlee station (15min by foot from the end location) to Oud-Heverlee station. The ride takes about 10 minutes. Afterwards you will have to walk 900m to The Shelter from Oud-Heverlee station. You can purchase your tickets beforehand or at the ticket booths in the station. Groups from 10 people:

On Wednesday at 13h30 - 14h30 or during weekends on Saturday at 9h30 – 10h30 – 11h30 – 13h30 – 14h30 – 15h30*

On official holiday(s) at 9h30 - 1030 - 11h30 - 13h30 - 14h30 - 15h30*

During Summer holidays (1 July to 31 August) from Tuesday until Sunday at 9h30 – 10h30 – 11h30 – 13h30 – 14h30 – 15h30*

We're closed on Mondays during Summer holidays.

*ATTENTION: birthday parties must be booked at least 48 hours in advance! 

After making the reservation, a schedule will be proposed based on the chosen starting time! 

OPTION 1A: Trip per canoe to Heverlee + Party-Package

• Groups from 10 children: € 23,00 per child

OPTION 1B: Trip per canoe to Heverlee + Return by Kickbike + Party-Package 

• Groups from 10 children: € 31,00 per child

OPTION 2A: Trip per canoe to Heverlee + Drink from bar (+ own snacks)

• Groups from 10 children: € 17,00 per child + Price per drink (check menu café)

OPTION 2B: Trip per canoe to Heverlee + Return by Kickbike + Drink from bar (+ own snacks)

• Groups from 10 children: € 25,00 per child + Price per drink (check menu café) 

- Maximum 30 participants for the return by Kickbike -

For birthday-parties we ask at least 1 adult per 10 children and at least 2 adults per group for the guidance during the activity. The two accompanying adults can participate for free. Extra participating adults pay the same price as the children. 

Are you or is one of your friends unable to attend the activity because of illness or unforeseen circumstances? It can happen to anybody!

The Shelter offers for the group "Birthday Parties" a REFUND for absent participants on the day of the activity without any extra costs! 

No-Show guarantee: Refund up to 10% of the number of participants.

Example: A group of 15 participants, where one of the participants is unable to attend. In this case the paid amount for the participant will be refunded.
