General information

Starting location: The Shelter, Stationsstraat 13, 3060 Korbeek-Dijle
End point: Celestijnenlaan 300, just before the bridge over the Dijle

The 6.5 km SUP trip takes about 1h30min and offers a few exciting moments for those who enjoy a challenge.

Who is it for?
Minimum age: 12 years.
Younger children (from 8 years old) can do this trip in a canoe! More information about this trip can be found here.

Note:
We will give you a life jacket, but all participants must be able to swim.


How do I return after the SUP trip?

Returning from Heverlee to The Shelter after the SUP trip is possible by Kickbike, on foot, by own transportation, or public transport. It is not mandatory to return; you can also go your own way from the endpoint.

By Kickbike:
End your activity on a sporty note by returning with a Kickbike along the Dijlepad, a unique route along the Dijle. The path starts at the exit point and leads to The Shelter in about 4 kilometers. By Kickbike, it takes around 40 minutes.

On foot:
You can also walk back via the Dijlepad, which starts at the exit point and leads to The Shelter over a distance of about 4 kilometers. On foot, it takes about 1 hour.

By own transportation:
After the kayak trip, it is possible to return to The Shelter or go directly to your destination by own transportation. There is parking available near the endpoint.

By public transport:
After the trip, you can take public transport back to The Shelter. This is possible by train.

Train Ottignies: From Heverlee Station (15 minutes on foot from the arrival point) to Oud-Heverlee Station, which takes about 10 minutes. From there, it’s another 900 meters to The Shelter. Train tickets can be purchased in advance or from ticket machines at the station. For more information, visit the SNCB website.


When can I plan this activity?

Groups under 10 participants:

  • During the summer holidays (July 1 to August 31), Tuesday to Sunday at 09:30, 10:30, 11:30, 13:30, 14:30, and 15:30.
  • During the weekend on Saturday and Sunday at 09:30, 10:30, 11:30, 13:30, 14:30, and 15:30.

If you would like to schedule your activity on a weekday with a free choice of start time outside the above periods, a fixed fee will be charged for organizing the trip.

Groups with more than 10 participants:

  • During the summer holidays (July 1 to August 31), Tuesday to Sunday at 09:30, 10:30, 11:30, 13:30, 14:30, and 15:30.
  • During the week (Mon-Fri) with a free choice of start time, or during the weekend on Saturday and Sunday at 09:30, 10:30, 11:30, 13:30, 14:30, and 15:30.


Price

What does this activity cost?

Kayak trip to Heverlee:
Price per participant: €20.00

Kayak trip + Kickbike:
Price per participant: €28.00

Maximum of 30 participants for the return by Kickbike.

For every 10 participating children/youths (-18 years), one accompanying adult can join the activity for free! (e.g., 30 members = 3 free accompanying adults).
